Find Bethany Gould model in, and around, Brighton city centre in A Dream Called Brighton. Shot, written and styled by Rae. Shot primarily on Canon SureShot 35mm 400.

Shot by Rae.

As Britain's gay capital, Brighton gives us everything we need. The coast, bright colours and anti-Tory freedom of expression. In a shoot inspired by Tim Walker, we look to Brighton as our dreamland - an aesthetically dreamy city-on-the-sea - rooted in queer culture. Moving away from surface-level aesthetic, we also see Brighton's political stance reflected in the term 'dreamland', acting as a complete juxtaposition to the remaining majority of the South Coast.

Take note, as Bethany tours Brighton in head-to-toe pink, contributing to a physical definition of camp, through the eyes of fashion. Camp is demonstrated as simply as just walking through the streets of Brighton; the cities creatives and queer presence uphold the Brighton reputation through unapologetic celebration. Establishing a shared political direction and open-minded ideology truly leads to freedom of mind. This forward-thinking, green and gay city allows for sweet dreams, serving as a glass ball waiting for the rest of Britain to catch up. And fuck it, while we're at it may as well paint all the houses rainbow, too.
