Covid Christmas is over...but what now? Written by Rae, Imagery via Pinterest.

After potentially...no, definitely, the worst possible year we can remember, we still had a little time to enjoy ourselves over the festive period, but with Christmas over, what now?

Despite Brexit looming while being stuck in the faulty Tiers system, we must look to the new year, and consider arrangements for making the most out of our new normal, at least until the government pulls it's finger out in an attempt to end the spread of Covid in the UK permanently. January 1st 2021 does not have to solely indicate our separation to the EU, but can also symbolise a set of new values and goals for our new future.

Typical new years resolutions centre around travelling the world or getting a job or losing weight, but why not reflect on more personal developments instead of considering the mess in which we call the current outside world? Why not teach yourself a language, improve your cooking skills, explore a new creative medium, attend a series of online classes or challenge yourself to consume more ethically? We spend so much time pondering our life and direction, and where we are vs where we want to be, but while we can't predict the shape of the future landscape, what better time to find yourself?

Finding happiness in the new year is not synonymous with returning to previous life and the world pre-pandemic, instead we must find the time to get to know ourselves and be a little selfish for once. It's okay to do nothing this year, to progress personally this year, to focus on yourself this year.

While the world is a shambles we only have each other and ourselves. Here's to 2021, let's hope the only way is up!
