We love to see what you're up to, and how your creative minds navigate 2020 youth art forms, and what better media to look into than Tattoos. Join us for our new weekly tattoo journal segment, celebrating your new tattoos or your tattoo artists recent work!
Written by Rae. Photos by Alexander Evans, tattooer via Instagram (@alaxander_evans_1992), Xisca Biblioni, customer and Rae Martins, customer.
1. See work from Alex in this first piece, referencing drug culture with the slang term "Bando Baby" tattooed just underneath - Boomers, don't worry about it, via Alex.
2. This "STILL BROKE" piece appealed to us and we had to share with you, using a rounded, bold, black-work font to create a powerful looking tattoo, via Alex.
3. This piece features a childhood favourite cartoon from back in the day, but he's now wearing Nike TNs, carrying stacks and armed with a gun - we love the thought process behind this one and the reference to our childhood while still keeping it youth culture, via Alex.
4. See a Louis Vuitton inspired background framed by a line-work rectangle, inside features a Greek Mythology vibe piece including line-work lion, goddess, the sun and the moon, via Xisca.
5. See a black-work piece of an abstract Mythology sun using negative shades and contrasting, via Xisca.
6. See three ladies showing throwback fashion trends and fashion through the ages, for example, their handbag-dogs, umbrellas as accessories and silhouettes of the dresses; the 'no faces' was a clevel nod to feminism, and how women are seen as objects and not themselves, via Xisca.
7. See a tribute to both Gucci and traditional Japanese tattoo style with this tiger design; Alex created a design that featured the Gucci tiger print face, with a traditional Japanese tiger body for a unique tattoo design, via Rae, by Alex.
8. See a more traditional tiger face, done with small aspects of black-work, shading and line-work to create a unique dimension, via Alex.
9. This cigarette box features beautifully simplistic line-work to achieve an edgy aesthetic that also fits a very minimalistic feel too - we all know smokings cool, but this tattoo is even cooler, via Alex.
