Though its back-to-school season, we thought we'd outgrown the shop for formal shoes and hard-wearing chunky trainers, but it seems we may be wrong. We've been loving platform boots all season, but with the trends of A/W20, square toe and loafer styles specifically, have also come crashing into our wardrobes.
Although a vague style, formal shoes summarise the merge of both masculine and feminine footwear, traditionally found among the utility trend and other past influences, including the Punk subculture boosted today by the rise of E-Girls. Key brands in this category include Dr Martens, New Rock, Kickers, Clarks, Buffalo, Gucci, Bottega Veneta and Peter Do, among others.
