Seeing as though we missed out on this year's Met Gala carpet, it's only fair to look back on our favourite previous years, attendees and themes. Watch as Blur. rank the top 10 years of the Met Gala to date. Curated by Rae, Imagery via Vogue.
10. Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty 2011 - With extravagant structures and plenty of feathers, this theme encompassed a new level of luxurious and vintage femininity.
9. Costumes of Royal India 1985 - Most commonly known for Cher's mesh-body look, with exquisite fabrics and colours all round.
8. Yves Saint Laurent: 25 Years of Design 1983 - We may be obsessed because of the retro vibe, rather than theme and fashion, but there's no going wrong with Saint Laurent. Timeless and steller through and through.
7. The House of Chanel 2005 - The year of vintage-esque flowing dresses, Blur.'s favourite being, of course, the Nicole Kidman number. So 2000s.
6. Christian Dior 1996 - Oh yes, THAT Met Gala. The year that Princess Diana slayed us all in the navy Dior slip. Completely breath-taking yet effortlessly beautiful, a common theme for Dior.

5. Fashion and History: A Dialogue 1992 - Full-on Glamour with classic silhouettes and fashion references. Elegant yet simple, with Christy Turlington owning the night.

4. Fashion Dolls: The Survival of Haute Couture 1999 - Naomi's first Met Gala and a homage to haute couture fashion - what more could we want?

3. Camp: Notes on Fashion 2019 - Insanely creative in terms of theme but let down due to overall attendee fashion. Special mentions, however, including Billy Porter, Ezra Miller, Gigi Hadid, Ciara, Lena Waithe and Winnie Harlow.
2. Punk: Chaos to Couture 2013 - Bringing a little edge to the party never hurt nobody. This theme juxtaposed with the elitist guest list turned fashion on its head, and no one did it better than Ms Cyrus.
1. Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination 2018 - Stunning, elegant, royal. Rihanna stole the entire show, and the promotion video will forever be engrained in our brains.
